The Springfield Lake Rec Centre (SLRC), located at 266 Lakeview Avenue, serves the community’s needs in many ways.

| | | | The main hall (renovated in 1995) measures 40' by 80' and doubles as a community hall and a gymnasium. Off the main hall there are kitchen facilities, bar facilities and washrooms including wheel chair accessibility.

| | | | The building can host dances, weddings, banquets, staff parties or other social gatherings for up to 230 people. Smaller groups often use the member's lounge and deck upstairs.

| | | | Through the winter months the hall is also used for recreation purposes including floor hockey, basketball, karate, Indoor soccer, track and field, dryland training etc. It is also quite popular for youth activities such as birthday parties or dances. HRM Recreation uses the hall year round. Check the links section for their latest programming as well as other sporting organizations.
The building is used for many community meetings and gatherings of other non profit organizations such as Scouts and Guides. Again, more information is located in the Links and Current Activities sections of this website.
The office for booking any of the facilities is located on the second floor of this building and the Summer Ice Cream stand is located underneath the deck.
